In honor of Fire Prevention week Griffin's class had a fieild trip to the St. Marys Fire Department today.

They started out by having a fireman dressed in plainclothes. Piece by piece he put on each part of his firesuit so the kids can see that there was nothing to be afriad of. Griffin was still a little apprehensive so we stayed back.

Fire hose time! The kids were a little nervous about this as well but once we got up there Griffin didn't want to stop.

Fall is most definitely upon us with St. Mary's Annual Hay Days. Costumed and lathered in cactus juice all of us got together for the Scarecrow Stroll.

Griffin can't understand why he can't wear his costume ALL THE TIME. When he gets up in the morning "Can I put it on?" When he gets out of the bath, "Please?" After his nap, "What about now?!" This kid is nothing if not persistent!

Griffin wanted his face painted something fierce. I was unsure but he begged to get it and to his credit it only took 5 minutes for him to rub it off instead of 2! It was worth it, he was so proud.

The little ones had a good time people watching and getting rare bits of candy!

The kids had such a fun time but with the bugs getting worse and sky turning dark it was time to head home. We are so thankful to have you guys as friends and partners in crime.

Sailing the high seas

After church Uncle Gary invited us to go on his boat to Fernandina for lunch.

With their faces in the wind looking for alligators and sharks (haha) and waving as other boaters passed by the kids were having a BLAST.

AAAARGH!! Of course Griffin had to stop and check out the pirate. We have a little less than a month until Griffin's pirate party! After lunch we got some superman ice cream.

Then it was time to head home. The sky was getting cloudy and the wind was picking up.

We had some nervous sailors. After some serious splashes and then several gusts of really cold wind I think we all thought we were going to have chillbumps for the rest of our lives!

Sweet, little Georgia! I can't believe it's been a year since you came into this world. It seems like just yesterday we were visiting you in the hospital!
